Protein
is where it is at when it comes to smart snacking, and as Women’s Health magazine stated in their May 2014 issue, “protein is the kryptonite to your fat
stores”. I’ve been making quite a few recipes lately, getting inspo for new
recipes online and on health magazine but also making a few flavours myself!
great recipe from WH magazine |
This
recipe comes from Women’s Health
magazine and is so easy to make. The almond butter on the recipe can help
prevent blood sugar levels spiking (which happens when we consume sugary foods
such as sweetened cereal bars and pastries). If you fancy something sweet after
dinner (who doesn’t!) then these are perfect for giving you a little sweet
treat without ruining your healthy eating.
25g
protein
15g
coconut oil, melted
15g
agave nectar*
25g
coconut flour**
30g
almond butter
50ml
almond milk
5g
vanilla extract
30g
raw cocoa nibs

In
a food processor, whizz together the protein, agave nectar and coconut flour.
Then add in the melted coconut oil, almond butter, almond milk, vanilla and a
pinch of salt.
Blitz
until all the ingredients are well combined.
Lastly
add the cocoa nibs, and pulse for 20 seconds to roughly chop them onto the
mixture.
Simply
take a large pinch of the mixture and roll into balls (you may want to wet your
hands for this), pop them in the fridge to set for an hour or so and enjoy them
as and when you need!!
smile whilst you roll! |
Each
balls contains just 80 calories and 4g of protein!
Get
munching!

Like this recipe??? Then try these raw sweet treats...
*the
original recipe uses 15g coconut sugar but I went for agave nectar so it sticks
together better
**I
bought mine from Holland and Barrett
