If you love the theatre then you’ll love West End Live. One
weekend over the summer, all the theatre shows in the West End, come together
to showcase their songs on stage at Trafalgar Square, all for free!

If you pop along, you’ll be treated to non-stop singing and
dancing from all the shows, singing the favourites from the shows. From the
most famous shows, such as Jersey Boys,
The Phantom of the Opera and Wicked, to the lesser known and newer
shows like Once and The Pajama Game.

Take a picnic and get there early as it starts at 11.30am on the
Saturday and midday on the Sunday. As a free event, this is popular (although I
had only just heard of it and it was in its 10th year), there are long queues to get
in. We got there at 10.30am and got in and settled just as it started with the
first song. Perfect timing.

the girls and I enjoying the shows |
The Thriller cast put
a full performance on, with 6-7 Michael Jackson classics which was fantastic
and the cast of Mamma Mia donned the
70’s gear for a few Abba classics that got the crowd dancing. There were a few
that made me think that this musical isn’t for me (sorry Matilda and Once) but
on the flip side, there were a few performances that got us thinking that we
need to see that show (Miss Saigon
and Forbidden Broadway)

It's all shown on big screens too if you can't see the stage |
With glorious sun shine in the centre of The Trafalgar this was
a great way to spend a Saturday.

West End Live was this weekend just gone but if you’re a fan of
musicals, keep a look out for this next summer as it seems it is getting bigger
and better!
